In order to effectively manage your business, requires both theory and practice, and this course allows you to develop both your understanding of theory as well as its application in a wide variety of situations, as well as developing your practical skills. There is an attention placed on knowledge and understanding of business organisations, the business environment in which you operate and its management and the management of the people within. The course provides you with the skills and attributes that will enable you to compete and succeed in a wide range of fields that require management.

Academic requirements:

  • 32 UCAS points
  • At least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, e.g. BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)

Work experience route

  • Applicant must be minimum 21 years old
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the last 5 years (doesn’t need to be relevant to the course)
  •  Exemption from EL or Maths based on European qualifications, GCES or Functional skills level 2 ( it will depend on how old are) Case by case basis

English language requirements:

  • GCSE English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.5 in each band, or equivalent. Alternatively, applicants can sit the QA Higher Education English test.

Interview:

Additionally, during the admissions process, you will be asked to attend either an academic or admissions interview.

  • During the admissions interview, we will ask you questions about your choice of programme and will learn more about you.
  • The academic interview provides an opportunity for entry to applicants who do not meet standard entry requirements or have not been in education for a while. During this type of interview, we will assess your knowledge in a specific field.

The main goal of the course is to deliver a contemporary and dynamic programme of study which equips you with the knowledge and skills built into the subject to prepare you for a career in business management by increasing your understanding of organisations, their management, the economy, and the business environment.
