The healthcare sector is the largest sector in the UK, employing over 4 million people.
The industry plays a crucial role in supporting the economy by maintaining the physical and mental health of the wider workforce. It is anticipated that around 2 million people will need to be trained and recruited before 2022 as a result of the sector’s growth.

Whether you want to work within the public or private healthcare sector, or set out as an entrepreneur, studying on our Business and Healthcare Management course will impart the knowledge and employability skills that can fast-track you onto the healthcare landscape.
This course will provide you with a range of opportunities to develop the attitudes, abilities and competencies needed to work in a health and social care environment, both home and international. The course will also encourage entrepreneurship as you will have opportunities to develop the skills required to analyse complex contemporary business and healthcare organisations. Business analysis is a critical factor in determining organisational options as it forms the basis for negotiating, planning and execution to deliver on organisational goals.
Employers from the healthcare sector have been directly involved in the design and development of this course. Collaborations with these sector partners are used to explore those skill sets that employers are most interested in and to constantly ensure they are embedded within the delivery of the course. You will also benefit from lecturers who have significant experience across the industry.
On successful completion of this course, you might choose to move onto our postgraduate studies, such as our Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Health and Social Care.
ARU London's standard offer is 104 UCAS tariff points from 3 A Levels, e.g. BCC.
Alternatively, ARU London asks for:
- Irish Leaving Certificate: BBCCC.
- Scottish Highers: BBCCC.
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a business-related subject.
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points.

We also welcome applications from mature individuals who can demonstrate appropriate, relevant work experience.
All applicants are required to have at least 5 GCSEs at C/4 or above including English and Maths. Students whose first language is not English and who have not previously studied in the UK are required to have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
During your studies, there will be the opportunity to participate in the Employability Scheme with the specific objective of enhancing your future employment prospects. This includes CV workshops, interview techniques, career counselling and visits from prospective employers.

We’ll assess your progress through a variety of methods from coursework, group assignments, activity-based assignments and exams.
